- 500 g all-purpose flour
 - 1 liter water
 - 250 ml yogurt
 - 1 tsp salt
 - 100 g butter (melted, for layering)
 - 200 ml cream (for topping)

- Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, water, yogurt, and salt until smooth and lump-free. The consistency should be like pancake batter.
 - Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C. If you have a special flija baking pan or a circular shallow tray, use that for the authentic shape.
 - Layer the batter: Grease the baking pan and pour a thin layer of batter into the tray to form a ring around the edges, leaving the center empty. Drizzle melted butter over this layer. Bake until golden, about 10 minutes.
 - Repeat the process: Continue adding batter in a ring pattern, buttering between each layer and baking each layer until golden before adding the next. Repeat until all batter is used and the pan is filled.
 - Add the cream topping: Once all layers are baked, spread cream over the entire surface. Bake for an additional 10 minutes.
 - Serve: Allow the flija to cool slightly, then slice into wedges. Serve warm, often with yogurt or pickled vegetables.
